The Oetker family has played a formative role throughout the company's history. As successor to his brother, Dr. h. c. August Oetker, Richard Oetker represents the fourth generation of the owning family as a General Partner of the holding company,
Dr. August Oetker KG.
Dr. August Oetker (1862–1918) invented ready-to-use baking powder which he marketed (in addition to other products) under the brand name “Dr. Oetker.” From these modest beginnings, he used business acumen and creativity to forge a major food company.
Dr. Richard Kaselowsky (1888–1944), who had married into the Oetker family, continued the work of the founder. He expanded the company's activities in Germany and neighboring countries.
Rudolf-August Oetker (1916–2007), the founder's grandson, took the company into new sectors outside the food business. His drive to expand and diversify led to the creation of the Oetker Group.
Dr. h. c. August Oetker (born 1944) was a General Partner of Dr. August Oetker KG and Chairman of the Executive Board of Dr. Oetker GmbH from 1981 to 2009. During this period, he focused Oetker Group companies on core areas and successfully expanded the companies' business activities globally.
Since 1 January 2010, he has been Chairman of the Advisory Board of
Dr. August Oetker KG.
Richard Oetker (born 1951) has been a member of the Executive Board of
Dr. Oetker GmbH since 1996. For ten years, he oversaw Human Resources
as well as the development of affiliate companies outside Germany. His
successes include establishing and growing the Group's presence in Eastern
European markets since the mid-90s.
Since 1 January 2010, he has been a General Partner of Dr. August Oetker KG
and Chairman of the Executive Board of Dr. Oetker GmbH.
